Balasore, May 1: The body of a youth was found in a pool of blood on the roadside near Narada Chhaka in Chhanua village under Basta police station in Balasore district. 

The deceased has been identified as Pruthviraj Patra (25), son of Manoj Kumar Patra of Chahapada village under Jagatpur police station in Cuttack district. 

According to the information, the locals spotted the body lying on the roadside near a school in Chanua village. Following this, they immediately informed the police about the incident.

After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot, seized the body, and sent it for an autopsy.

Preliminary investigation suggested that it was a case of murder as the youth had multiple severe injuries on his body. 

The cops have initiated a probe into the matter.
