Cuttack, Apr 10: Orissa High Court on Wednesday upholds the Special Vigilance Court's order awarding a 3-year jail term to Barabati-Cuttack Congress MLA Mohammed Moquim in connection with Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC) Corruption Case.

Earlier, MLA Mohammed Moquim has moved the Orissa High Court against the verdict of a Vigilance court in a case related to Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC).

It is pertinent to mention here that a special vigilance court in September 2022 awarded the jail term to the Barabati-Cuttack MLA. However, the Congress leader soon got interim bail from Orissa High Court on a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh with two sureties.
