BJP Will Give Odia Culture-Based Govt With 'Bhumiputra' CM: Amit Shah

Sambalpur, May 21: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday asserted that the BJP would give an Odia culture-based government with a 'Bhumiputra' Chief Minister Heading It. 

Addressing a Vijay Sandkalpa Samavesh, Shah severely criticized the BJD government's failures and corruption practices on different fronts. He alleged that the BJD government has disrespected Odia language, tradition, and culture during its long years of rule.  

"The BJP will give you a culture-based government. The BJP will protect Odia language, literature and culture. A Bhumiputra who is born in Odisha and knows Odia language will be made the Chief Minister," asserted Shah. 

Thousands of people gathered on the PHD Ground at Ainthapali to listen to Shah, known as Chanakya of the BJP.  

Stating that Odisha is rich in natural resources with minerals and a long coastal area in the country, Shah expressed concern the highest number of poor people are residing in the State. 

"Even though Odisha is rich in mining and coastal resources, people here are poor. Youths are going outside in search of work. Odisha needs a strong government with a strong Chief Minister," pointed out Shah.

He said the BJP is fully committed to the overal development of Odisha and to protect its language and culture. He said medical education will be imparted in Odia amp-script in coming days. 

Terming the BJD government as a government of thieves, Shah wanted to know how the keys of Ratna Bhandar of Shreemandir were lost and why duplicate keys were made. He also wanted to know why the Commission of Inquiry report was yet to made public. 

"The BJP government will find out the keys of Ratna Bhandar and make the inventory of jewels by the Reserve Bank of India after it comes to power on June 4," asserted Shah.

The Home Minister said all the chit-fund scamsters will be jailed in 18 months from the day the BJP government is formed in the State. 

"Paddy will be procured from Odisha farmers at Rs 3,100 per quintal. Women will be given Rs 50,000 in their bank accounts. 25 women will be made lakhpati in two years in the country," Shah reminded about the Modi guarantees made to people of Odisha. 

Regarding the BJP's poll prospects, Shah said the party has already got 310 MPs in the already held five phases of polls and would cross 400 in the next phases.  

He urged people to voter for the BJP to get a "Swabhimani" double-engine government in the State.
