Bhubaneswar, Sept 2: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to kick off their 'Membership Drive' in Odisha, Tuesday i.e on September 3.

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will kick off the campaign by getting the membership formally. He will be followed by BJP State President Manmohan Samal, Ministers, MLAs and the party workers.

This move follows the drive by the BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP Party President JP Nadda as well as the Union Ministers will get the membership Monday at the Party Office in Delhi.

A Number -- 8800002024 -- has been issued by the ruling party as interested people can become a part of BJP with just a call. BJP said that they will try to reach everyone to give them an opportunity to become a member of the Saffron party.

Speaking about the 'BJP Membership Drive', Samal has thanked the people for showing faith on the party. He also urged them to be a part of BJP taking the membership.

"BJP has become the largest political party in the world with more than 18 crore members in past 10 years," stated Manmohan Samal. "So let's be a member of this illustrious political party and work dedicatedly and diligently for the people," he added.

The BJP State President said that there are about 42 lakh members of BJP in Odisha. "We had got about 40-45 per cent votes in the recently-concluded elections," said Manmohan Samal.

"I thank, on behalf of BJP, everyone for your support and showing faith on us," said Samal, urging the people to join the party formally and be a part of BJP.

The 'BJP Membership Drive' will take place in two phases with the first one to be continued till September 25, while the second phase is scheduled to take place October 2-15.

"We have a target of achieving the mark of 75 lakh membership on the opening day," said an optimistic Manmohan Samal before signing off.
