BJP Membership Drive: CM Majhi Receives Membership Along With Ministers, Leaders

Bhubaneswar, Sept 3: The BJP Membership Drive has been launched in Odisha as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi received his membership Tuesday to mark the beginning of the campaign.

Besides CM Majhi, BJP State President Manmohan Samal, Deputy CM KV Singh Deo, State In-Charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar, Union Minister Jual Oram also graced the occasion.

Odisha Cabinet Ministers, Lok Sabha MPs and MLAs as well as leaders also received the membership to officially kickoff the BJP Membership Drive in the state.

State In-Charge Tomar, on the other hand, has instructed all the party workers to carry out the campaign work building temporary booths near Railway Station, Bus Stand, outside the colleges. The party workers have been given a target of registering 400 members in every booth per day. 

CM Majhi has said that the party has a target of one crore registration in the BJP Membership Drive. "We must try to achieve our our goal of one crore membership in Odisha," said CM Majhi.

"We must also try to make Odisha the first engine in India development vehicle. Odisha must be in the forefront in the development of Eastern region of India," CM Majhi appealed to the party workers.

He also instructed the party workers to aware the people about the state government's flagship scheme -- Subhadra Yojana.

A Number -- 8800002024 -- has been issued by the ruling party as interested people can become a part of BJP with just a call. BJP said that they will try to reach everyone to give them an opportunity to become a member of the Saffron party.

Earlier Monday, speaking about the 'BJP Membership Drive', Samal has thanked the people for showing faith on the party. He had urged them to be a part of BJP taking the membership.

"BJP has become the largest political party in the world with more than 18 crore members in past 10 years," stated Manmohan Samal. "So let's be a member of this illustrious political party and work dedicatedly and diligently for the people," he added.

The BJP State President said that there are about 42 lakh members of BJP in Odisha. "We had got about 40-45 per cent votes in the recently-concluded elections," said Manmohan Samal.

The 'BJP Membership Drive' will take place in two phases with the first one to be continued till September 25, while the second phase is scheduled to take place October 2-15.
