Bhubaneswar, Dec 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday demanded a CBI inquiry into the seizure of more than Rs 500 crore from liquor traders in the State.
Party spokesperson Manoj Mohapatra alleged that the ruling BJD had kept money with Sahu Brothers and company for election management.
"How could a liquor merchant, who commenced business with Rs. 120 crores, earn more than Rs 500 crores in a short period," wanted to know Mohapatra.
The BJP leader alleged that the ministers from Boudh, Sonepur, Titlagarh, Raigarh and former Ministers of Bargarh had links with Sahu Brothers.
On the occasion, he showed a photo of liquor businessmen and Minister and Titlagarh MLA Tukuni Sahu and demanded a CBI inquiry into the entire illegal act.
