Bhubaneswar: Sub-Registrar Office Clerk Arrested For Taking Bribe Of Rs 20K

Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: Vigilance officers on Tuesday arrested Debajani Kar, Junior Clerk, office of Sub Registrar, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar on the charge of taking illegal gratification of Rs 20,000 from a person to execute a Registered Sale Deed of a subplot. 

The anti-corruption wing acted upon a complaint filed by the complainant. Debajani Kar demanded and took bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant. Vigilance sleuths recovered the money and arrested him. 

The officers also found cash over Rs.15 lakhs during a search of Sub-Registrar Office following trap. Senior Departmental Officers and Vigilance Officers conducted the search.  

In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS case No.26 dt.08.12.2024 has been registered against Debajani Kar. Progress is on and she will be forwarded to court, informed an official release.
