Bhubaneswar Double Murder: Accused Arrested, Police Recreate Crime Scene

Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: The two accused in the double murder case in the Capital City have finally been arrested Saturday, three days after the crime.

The accused -- Pradeep Mallik and Ganesh Mallik -- were arrested from two different places for their alleged involvement in the case over parking dispute at Kalayani Plaza near Hitech apartment under Airfield police limits. 

Pradeep was arrested from Puri, while Ganesh was taken into custody from Chandikhole area, informed DCP Prateek Singh, adding that police have also seized a knife from their possession.

After arresting the duo, police have recreated a crime scene along with the accused persons involved in the incident.

In a horrifying incident last Wednesday -- July 7, two persons were allegedly murdered following an quarrel over parking at Kalayani Plaza. The deceased were later identified as Rashmi Ranjan Sethi and Julu Sethi.

According to the information, the incident happened due to quarrel over car parking near the apartment. The accused duo had then absconded from the scene and went into hiding.

On being informed, Police reached the spot and conducted raids at various places to nab them. Police were conducting searches for the duo's whereabouts in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack and Jajpur.
