Bhubaneswar: Crime Branch Arrests Fraud Who Duped Rs 1 Crore Through Social Media

Bhubaneswar, Apr 16: A 21-year-old boy hit the headlines after being arrested on grounds of duping people of Rs 1.11 crore here. 

The Special Crime Branch of Police arrested the fraud, Atmajyoti Nayak from his house at Palaspalli today.

He claimed to pay an interest rate of 10% in social media and was able to dupe a whopping Rs 1.11 crore from the customers.

According to the sources, he was posing as an Imperial investor for the last three years. He was pursuing BBM final year in a private college here. 
Nayak was investing the money he earned in the stock market. 

On February 5, the duped customers reached out to the Special crime branch unit. After investigation, Nayak was arrested from his residence here and his account was seized. 

He had around Rs 15 lakh in his account.
