Bhadrak Tension: Internet Services Suspended For Next 48 Hours

Bhadrak, Sept 28: The Odisha Government suspended internet services in Bhadrak district Saturday for the next 48 hours (2 days) to bring normalcy to the law and order situation disturbed by a controversial social media post.

Yesterday, the administration promulgated prohibitions under Section 163, which will also remain enforceable till further orders. 

The decision to suspend internet services was taken to prevent the dissemination of provocative messages that could exacerbate communal tensions.

so far, the police have arrested 15 persons, including the main accused. Eight accused persons were arrested from Bhadrak Old Bazaar area and seven  were apprehended from Dhamnagar, said police.
