Bhadrak, Oct 27: In a successful night operation, as many as 24 people were rescued in Talagopbindha village, Saturday night.
The rescue operation was conducted at around 8.30 pm in the Talagopbindha village under Tihidi police station in Bhadrak district.
The 24 individuals, which mostly include children,women,senior citizens and sick persons, were stranded due to rising waters from the swollen Salandi river.
The rescue operation was a swift operation, jointly carried out by Dr. Satyajit Naik, IPS,DIG, Eastern Range, Balasore, SP Bhadrak, and ODRAF team.
The safely evacuated individuals were shifted to Aishanya Chandi High School cyclone shelter, provided a secure refuge for the evacuated individuals.
This successful operation showcased Odisha's effective disaster management, facilitated by timely warnings from the India Meteorological Department.
