Balasore, Nov 09: A physically challenged young woman has been attacked and brutally assaulted by a couple of miscreants near Kuruda village under Balasore Sadar Police Station limits Friday night over "property dispute".

As per the report, the miscreants attacked the physically challenged woman when she was on her way to home from her tuition at around 9.30 pm.

She was brutally assaulted by the miscreants, who used wooden stick to brutally beat the victim. In the attack, her elbow joint has been dislocated, while her spine suffered critical injury.

The victim, identified as Champabati Panda from Kuruda village, jumped to a nearby pond to save her life. Later, she registered a complaint in this connection.

According to the complaint, there has been a "property dispute" going on between the victim's family and her neighbour. She even had protested in front of the SP office to get justice.

The complaint also says that the dispute is causing issues between the two families regularly, which, she alleged, led to the attack on her.

Champabati is in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at the Orthopedic ward of the Balasore District Headquarter Hospital.
