Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: A picture of Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh with both legs resting on top of the World Cup trophy is going viral on social media .

Shockingly, the photo was shared on Instagram by Australia captain himself Pat Cummins.. The internet called the gesture ‘disrespectful’ and trolled him for it.

The picture was shared hours after Australia lifted the World Cup trophy. The photo appears to be from the hotel room where the Australian team was sitting and conversing with each other at ease.

As soon as the picture went viral, people started trolling him for being ‘disrespectful’ towards the trophy.

 

 

One of the fans underlined the importance of the ICC trophy and its value for the Indian fans and team and the respect it deserves. "Bro, show some respect to the World Cup trophy. Ask Indian fans or team Idia about the value of this trophy," one of the fans wrote on Twitter.
