Sambalpur, Mar 27: The number of diarrhoea deaths rose to three with a woman succumbing to the water-borne disease in New Market pada in Sambalpur district.

The deceased woman has been identified as Jamuna Behera. 

She was undergoing treatment at VISMAR medical college and hospital in Burla.

The total tally of diarrhoea infected patients has crossed 150.  

Union Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met people of the Hirakud area who are undergoing treatment for diarrhoea at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla on Tuesday morning.  

Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the 'Drink from Tap' Yojana in 18 cities, including Sambalpur, in 2022.
