Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: The State government has initiated efforts to bring back all Odia people trapped in strife-torn Bangladesh in 20 days.

Labour and Employees State Insurance Minister Ganesh Ram Khuntia said this on Sunday.

"A list of migrant labourers, who have gone to Bangladesh from different districts of Odisha, is being prepared. District Labour Officers have been asked to gather information about such migrants and send data to the department," the Minister said.

He said further steps would be taken based on the list of DLOs.

First, we will contact people who have gone to Bangladesh with government permission. In the second phase, we will collect information about people who have gone unofficially to the strife-torn country and take steps to bring them back, said the Minister.

The Minister said all Odia youths working in Bangladesh would be brought within 15 to 20 days.
