Ahead Of Polls, DGP Reviews Law & Order Preparedness In Southern Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Apr 22: Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha, Arun Sarangi on Monday reviewed the preparedness for the ensuing parliamentary and assembly elections in Southern Odisha today. 

Among others, Additional DG (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar, ADG (Operation) Debadatta Singh, IG (Intelligence) Anup Sahoo, DIG Kanwar Bishal Singh, IG (Southern Range) Jaya Narayan Pankaj, Brahmapur SP Dr Sarthak Sarangi, Ganjam SP Jagamohan Mina and SPs of other three southern districts were present at the review meeting held at Berhampur. 

Emphasizing to ensure a free and fair election, the top cops discussed strategies to counter any possible Maoist activities in any part of the region. For this a detailed strategey was carved out at the meeting, said sources. 

It was learnt from the meeting that security has been intensified in Boudh and Kandhamal district to ensure that any such situation does not occur anytime during the eleciotn.
