Bhubaneswar, July 3: The Biju Janata Dal, now after its defeat in both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, looks to be a divided house. While leaders have formed two groups and held meetings, some have aired their views on the party's defeat.

A statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and an analysis done by senior journalist Ruben Banerjee on the BJD are certainly have some clue if the post-poll developments in the BJD are seen thoroughly.

After MLAs Ranendra Pratap Swain and Arun Sahoo and Pravat Biswal, former MLA and father of incumbent Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Souvik Biswal, has attributed the BJD's defeat to VK Pandian's involvement in the BJD.

Internal protests seem brewing in the regional party for supremo Naveen's love and support for Pandian. At a meeting presided over by Naveen, Swain pointed out reasons of defeat and expressed anguish. A day after, MLAs Arun Sahoo, Badri Patra and Ganeswar Behera joined Swain in finding the reasons and airing the same in the media.  Now, Pravat Biswal has opened his mouth and blamed Bobby and Pandian for the party's defeat.

Even Biswal has warned that he would open up internal reasons of defeat if the supremo does not do anything in this regard by July 11. Similarly, a Bobby's supporters meeting was held at Opposition Deputy Chief Whip Pratap Deb's house today. After this meeting, a BJD leader said there are many 'Bibhishans' in the party.

What looks to have displeased many BJD leaders is the supremo's failure to constitute a committee to find reasons behind the poll defeat. Naveen's clean chit to Bobby-Pandian Duo is another reason that seems to have divided the BJD house.

Now senior leaders are divided into different groups. Prasanna Acharya, Devi Mishra, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Sanjay Das Barma, Arun Sahoo, Ranendra Pratap Swamy on one side, and Pratap Dev, Pramila Malik, Niranjan Pujari, Pranab Das and Sushant Raut on the other. The outcome of the BJD leaders' anguish will be known in the next few days, according to some analysts.
