Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: The possibility of a cyclone hitting Odisha coast in the next week looks apparent with some weather agencies predicting a cyclonic circulation-turned depression in the Bay of Bengal to occur between October 21 and 23.

"A cyclonic circulation is likely to occur in the Bay of Bengal on October 21. It will turn into a depression sometime between October 22 and 23. By its impact, rainfall will occur between October 23 and 26," predicted a foreign weatherman.

The depression may move in the northwest direction and hit the Odisha coast. However, the intensity of the possible cyclone is yet to be ascertained.

It may be noted that Odisha witnessed the devastating Super Cyclone 1999 in October. Since then, weather-related issues have occurred in October many times.
