Sambalpur, July 10: A large freshwater fish, weighing around 60 kg, was caught from Mahanadi at Burla siphon yesterday. The fish caught in the fishermen's net is named 'Budhia'.

According to the information, some fishermen ventured into Hirakud dam water to catch fish yesterday. The fish got entangled in a fishing net spread near the right-side spillway of the Hirakud dam near Burla Siphon.

It so happened that a fisherman could not drag in his fishing net alone as it was heavy. He soon took the help of other fish catchers. When dragged fully, they were amazed to see the large-size fish.

Later, they reportedly sold the fish to a hotel in Sambalpur city.
