50 Parrot Birdlings Rescued While Being Smuggled In Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj, Jan 9: Acting on a tip-off, the forest department busted a parrot smuggling racket in Kuleisila village under Gorumahisani police station in Rairangpur forest section of Mayurbhanj district. 

The main accused Mohammad Shehzad (30) was found possessing around 50 birdlings of parrot. He had kept the birdlings in two cartons and was transporting them illegally on a TVS bike with registration number OD11M6925 and court forwarded him.

The forest officials detained him and seized the birdlings. As of now, the forest department is taking care of them.
