Sorada, Jan 19: In a tragic mishap, at least five persons lost their lives while one was reported critical after two bikes collided head-on near Podakhari village in Sorada of Odisha's Ganjam district this morning.

According to reports, one of the bikes was on its way to Asurbandh from Sorada while the other bike was returning to Sorada and the two bikes collided.

Reportedly, four out of the six people died on the spot and two others were carried to Brahmapur Medical for necessary attention, but one of the two people died while undergoing treatment.

The deceased in one bike has been identified as electric department officials and the deceased of the other bike is yet to be ascertained.

On being informed, Sorada police have reached on spot and started an investigation into the matter.
