39th National Junior Athletics Championship Concludes; Odisha Finishes With Six Gold

Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: The 39th National Junior Athletics Championship concluded successfully Wednesday at the Kalinga Stadium here in the Capital City.

Odisha, the hosts, finished their campaign with 11 medals, including six gold, two silver and three bronze. 

Haryana emerged overall champions with 303 points, while Tamil Nadu finished runners-up bagging a total of 269 points.

Haryana topped both the men and women categories with 116 and 179 points, respectively. As many as 20 records were created during the competition.

Adille Sumariwalla, the president of the Athletics Federation of India, was present at the closing ceremony at the iconic Kalinga Stadium. Director of Sports and Youth Affairs Department Siddhartha Das, Additional Secretary Vijay Kumar Swain, Joint Secretary Vijayananda Nayak and other senior officials were also present at the closing ceremony.
