34 Kg Ganja Seized, Couple Arrested In Balangir

Balangir, Sept 29: Excise sleuths arrested a couple after seizing 34 kg of cannabis from them at Titilagarh in Balangir district on Sunday. 

Acting on a tip-off received from a reliable source, the excise officers rushed to the Titilagarh railway station and swooped on the couple, who were carrying ganja-filled bags and waiting to board a train. 

The arrested were identified as Mehmood Alam and Rahim Khatun, a couple from Jharkhand. The husband-wife duo was waiting to transport the contraband ganja through the Samata Express when they were caught. 

Later, Alam and Khatun were forwarded to the court.
