Bolangir, Mar 25: In another glooming example of penury hitting people of western Odisha, about 300 migrant workers from Bolangir and Nuapada districts have reportedly been trapped in a brick kiln in far-away Telangana for many weeks now.

They have sent a video of their traumatic condition to their villagers in which they have urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to rescue them at the earliest.

According to the informaiton, poor villagers of the Muribahal block area in Bolangir district and the Komana block area in Nuapada district took advance from a Sardar and went to Telangana to work at a brick kiln during the Dusshera 'Daadan' season.

They are now working in the Rangapur area under Paidapali police station in the State. They alleged that the brick kiln owner made them work day and night without payment. As a result, they have been facing problems in having day's square meals and even taking baths and doing daily chores.

A video showing migrants appealing to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to rescue them from the clutches of cruel brick kiln owners has gone viral on social media.

Based on the video, co-villagers have urged the district administration to take appropriate measures to bring back the poor workers at the earliest.
