3 Killed As Truck Hits Bike In Odisha's Keonjhar

Keonjhar, Oct 7: In a tragic road accident, three people died after a truck hit their motorcycle on NH-20 in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Kanhu Munda and Bhadra Khatua of Masinabila village, and Maheswar Naik of Sanabarabeda village under Ghatgaon police station limits in the district.

According to sources, the accident took place near Dhenkikote Godabari Dhaba under Ghatgaon police station area this afternoon when the speeding truck rammed into the bike from behind on the highway and fled from the spot.

Riding on a bike, the victims were heading to their villages from Dhenkikote Bazar, while the truck was coming from opposition direction, sources said.

Locals rescued the trio in a critical condition and rushed them to Ghatgaon Hospital, where the doctors declared them “brought dead”.

After getting information, local police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
The truck driver was detained near the Dhenkikote toll gate, police said.
