Bhubaneswar, June 26: School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond Wednesday said 15,000 teachers would be recruited soon and steps would be taken to check dropouts in government schools.

A road map has been prepared for providing quality school education to children.

The Minister said all the vacant posts in schools up to Class XII will be filled up through recruitment in the coming days.
The department's focus is on minimizing school dropouts, said he.

"A drive will be undertaken to interact with parents, urging them to send their children to schools," the Minister said.
Schools lacking toilets, classrooms, and drinking water facilities would be equipped with such facilities. Every effort will be made to encourage children to go to their schools in rural areas.

The Minister said long-pending problems in primary schools will be resolved.

"Teachers will not be moving on roads henceforth. They will be busy teaching students in schools," asserted Gond.

He also stated that discussions will be held on 5T progrmmes and stringent action will be taken if any irregularities are found.

The Minister hinted that uniforms of blue pants and white shirts may be introduced again.

He said the department is currently reviewing teaching, hostel, and other facilities of SC and ST students. All facilities would be provided to them, said Gond.
