1 Killed, Four Critical In Bee Attack In Kalahandi

Kalahandi, Sept 22: A man died and four others were injured critically in honeybees' attack at Betiapada village of Benagaon gram panchayat under the Bijepur police station in Kalahandi district.   

The deceased was identified as Burji Majhi (45). The injured are undergoing treatment in a hospital. 

According to the information, Burji, Purna Majhi(46), Lipa Majhi (36), Mugri Majhi (38) and Pagi Majhi (45) went to collect timber to a nearby jungle. However, they were attacked by honeybees there. They were rescued late in the night and rushed to a nearby hospital. They returned home after primary treatment. But Burji's condition deteriorates further. She was soon rushed to the Kalahandi District Headquarters Hospital at Bhawanipatna. Burji died at around 3 am on Saturday while under treatment. 

Bijepur police sent the body for postmortem and started an investigation.
